About Me

Hi there! My name is Lidija Đikić and I am an amateur photographer based in Split, Croatia. My love for photography began when I was around ten years old, at the moment I first witnessed the process of bringing photographs to life, from film to paper in a darkroom.

I have been a member of the photographers’ club Fotoklub Split since 2025. I have completed two photography courses there: Fundamentals of Digital Photography and Analog Photography. Although I am still an amateur, I am eager to learn more and improve my skills, to take this hobby to a higher level and, who knows, perhaps (hopefully) turn it into a profession.

Sunchica, or Sunčica, or "little sun" in English, is a nickname I received from a friend. Since I feel as though I am powered by the sun, and I am definitely inspired by the sun, sun is often the main "ingrediant" in my photography and I also strive to be, at least, a little sun in the lives of the people aroud me, I found it suitable for my photography pseudonym. Also, I just love the fact that my mom had the same nickname when she was a college student.
